is watching your kids go thru hard times. To feel their pain yet know that as time goes on everything will be ok. That's a part of life, a part of growing up and for all the happy, fun times in life - there will also be a lot of sad, hurtful, lonely times that make them into the person that they are becoming. When your kids are little, you tend to want to step in and fight their battles for them, but as they get older - you need to step back to help them to learn how to deal with the difficulties on their own, in their own time. But as a parent, you want to put a band-aid on your kids pain and make it all go away. Knowing you can't is the hard part. All we can do is love them, give them encouragement, listen, have faith in the fact that we have raised smart, interesting, caring people and give lots of hugs & kisses along the way!
