fun times..

.
My fun & fabulous weekend consisted of:

An unplanned last minute flight, as I was going to drive with
my daughter and friends, but work did not allow me to do so.
I have flown up north 3 times in the last five weeks, i feel
like a commuter that flies to work!

Partying with my friend Kim for her 54th birthday. (We have been friends for 42 years!)  An old friend of hers was playing in a band in a small bar in the redwood forest. we had a great time chatting, laughing and dancing the night away until 3 am!

Taking photos of artifacts in my sisters front yard, see above photo!

Helping to prepare for my nephew and his wife's co-ed baby shower,
by preparing lots of yummy food and baked goods!  (I made my dark
chocolate peanut butter cups - lip smacking!) haha....

Midnight runs to the grocery store in town, as someone's sis (mine) wasn't happy with the way the cookies turned out, so she baked a new batch at 1 am.  We were all up until about 3 am - talking and watching my sis do her last minute details.

Visiting with friends and family at the baby shower, but I have to say the highlight was the men games - the baby stroller relay - they had to run up touch the hedges, come back and change a baby dolls diaper and hug her and they were being timed. It was hilarious!!  And the guys got very competitive, having their strategies ready by the time it was their turn.

By the end of the day, we were all exhausted and didn't last late into the night.  I had to get up at 5:30 to get to the airport to catch an early flight as I had to work on Monday.  I returned my rental car and checked luggage, got in security line (a really long one) and realized that I left my cell phone in the rental car - across the street and five floors up.  I raced over there and found it, then running back to airport, I dropped my Ipad (which I noticed several hours later has a crack on top of the glass - arrgghhhh....but it still works, so I am happy about that)

Got thru security, needed a cup of coffee and breakfast and continued reading my current book on my ipad...and this is exactly the reason I get to airports early...in the event that my brain turns off and I have to take a detour...haha....

All in all, a fun and fabulous weekend was had by all - lots of laughs, for sure!

We have a long weekend coming up and I am
looking forward to it - bbq's with friends and more laughs for sure!

Have a great day!

scenes from my weekend...

My girlfriend, Kim and I spent alot of time here in our
teens and early twenties, alot of fun memories for sure.
The town is Capitola and it's such a cute place to visit!

We then headed over to a fave place,
the Crow's Nest at the boat harbor for drinks.

The next day we headed to the Farmers Market

then to a BBQ at some friends place in the redwoods

Such a beautiful place and also alot of long time
memories for Kim and myself.

Boulder Creek is a community filled with rustic,
charming cabin type homes as it used to be
where alot of people had summer cottages

Since the 60's it's been filled with fabulously, creative
artists, such as this mural artist .
It was fun wandering around the town again!

I also had a wonderful time hanging with my
son, Matt, his wife Heather, my sis and her family
and my fave little great nephew, Mason - so much fun!

I hope you all had a FABULOUS weekend, I sure did!
Now back to work tomorrow!!

a spot of beauty...

oh, how I would love to have a weekend getaway here - so
calm, serene and beautiful!  I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend
filled with fun, love, laughter and chocolate eggs and bunnies!

We had a little Easter egg hunt for my 3 year old niece this weekend,
it's so much fun viewing life thru the eyes of a child - it made me smile.

What made you smile this weekend?

my nice weekend...

well now, our rainy weekend turned into a weekend filled with nothing but beautiful blue skies.  It was brisk, but perfect walking weather and I definitely took advantage of that.

Hung out at the assisted living with a great friend Roz that lives there. We were chatting about our friend Norma that passed away last week. Roz and Norma were joined at the hip, so to speak - so we were celebrating Norma's amazing life and I'm so glad that they had each other - they were so cute together, always looking out for each other and bantering back and forth.  Aren't good friends the bee's knees?

Went for a nice dinner out with my daughter Steff and her guy Tyler.  We had a relaxing meal with great conversation and a lovely chocolate torte with strawberries !

Watched Letters to Juliet again.  I just love Vanessa Redgrave and the beautiful Italian scenery!

Wrestled with my sprinkler system that would not turn off, even after I unplugged it.  I was wet, muddy, had the tools out trying to just disconnect it and my friend Sally came over and showed me a little lever I had not seen to turn off - go figure....We had a good laugh !

Had a nice, lazy morning hanging out with my guy and that turned into a nice relaxing afternoon reading - in between dealing with my sprinklers....

I hope you had a nice weekend, friends...  How did you spend it?

getting out for some fresh air....

Today I headed on over to check out Vintageweave Interiors
(yes that is me trying to take a picture in the window)

that Fifi Flowers recommended on her blog a few days ago,
but much to my disappointment they were closed today.

However I did get a peek thru the window, and I look
forward to exploring it at a later date - it looks fabulous!

So I walked over to the Farmers Market which was right across
the street and stopped in at The French Crepe for a nutella crepe
and a cappuccino - it was wonderful, as usual.

Then I took a stroll thru The Grove - which is an outdoor shopping
center next to the Farmers Market.

I couldn't believe how beautiful it was outside.  On Saturday, I had
spent the whole day indoors as I was decorating and putting the tree
up, so I made myself get out of the house and get some fresh air.

Usually this fountian is dancing to Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin
music, but today it was Christmas music and it was magical!

I hope everyone had a FANTASTIC weekend and
looks forward to a WONDERFUL week ahead!
