A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood..

This summer, I was treated to a dream trip to New York City. I was there many many years ago, but truthfully never really saw much of anything there - yes, I did see a few of the typical tourist type places, but one of my favorite things to do is just wander and explore. In doing so, we had so much fun - just wandering through neighborhoods, riding the subway, talking to people, eating in a wide variety of restaurants, soaking in the wonderful atmosphere of New York City. Even though we were there in the middle of summer, we were extremely lucky with the weather - low 80's, low humidity - just perfect. The Summer Olympics were being televised, so after our days of exploring we would sit outside in a restaurant and watch the Olympics and just relax and talk about all the wonderful things we did that day. This picture was at a outdoor cafe in Little Italy - we had taken the subway from our hotel which was in Midtown Manhattan and wandered through Greenwich Village, Noho and Soho and ended up in Little Italy. After peeking at all the menus that the restaurants display outside of their doors we chose this quaint little restaurant that had an outdoor cafe in the front and the back of the restaurant. We ended up eating in the back outdoor cafe and this is the view from our table. This is one of my simple pleasures in life - relaxing with a loved one over a tasty meal and taking in all the beautiful weather. It truly was a perfect day!
