one of the hardest things as a parent...

is watching your kids go thru hard times. To feel their pain yet know that as time goes on everything will be ok. That's a part of life, a part of growing up and for all the happy, fun times in life - there will also be a lot of sad, hurtful, lonely times that make them into the person that they are becoming. When your kids are little, you tend to want to step in and fight their battles for them, but as they get older - you need to step back to help them to learn how to deal with the difficulties on their own, in their own time. But as a parent, you want to put a band-aid on your kids pain and make it all go away. Knowing you can't is the hard part. All we can do is love them, give them encouragement, listen, have faith in the fact that we have raised smart, interesting, caring people and give lots of hugs & kisses along the way!

  3. What a wonderful mum you are; I can just tell. I went through a really rough patch a couple of years ago, and my mum was such a source of strength through it all. She couldn't, of course, fix anything for me, but she was always there to listen and guide. How lucky am I?

Have a great day, lovely Cathi. xoxo

  4. Really great post. I am not a parent, but I can only imagine how difficult this is. However, just the fact that you are putting this much thought into it makes me realize what a great parent you are.

  6. I know, it's awful. I think if they know they're loved they're safe from everything.

    But you know that.
