love.this.song...

There is one thing you may not know about me and that is

I love Christmas music - so much so that I sometimes

have been known to start playing it a few months before the

holidays begin.  As a matter of fact, after I dropped Steff

off in September to begin her new life as a university student living away

from home - I put on the Christmas music at least part of the

way home on my 5 hour drive and had a nice holiday sing a long

with myself!  This song that I have listed

below has been a fave of mine for over 30 years.  I can't believe

I don't even have a copy of it anymore or on my ipod, but I will

remedy that as soon as I finish this post.  It is sung by Kenny

Rogers and I think it is such a beautiful

song with an equally beautiful message.

Christmas Everyday

He was born so far away

So the story's told

We remember Christmas Day

When winter days grow cold

With the time it passes by

We put away the trim

Then we live and wonder why

We can't remember Him

The Christmas star shines once a year

And then it fades away

Keep the spirit in your heart

It's Christmas everyday

It's not the bells and it's not the snow

And it's not the gifts we get

But He was born so long ago

It's easy to forget

Peace on earth, good will to men

But men can't go alone

We get lost along the way

But He can bring us home

Remember Him throughout the year

Without the star above

He left us all a Christmas gift

He left the gift of love

The Christmas star shines once a year

And then it fades away

Keep the spirit in your heart

And it's Christmas every day...

HAVE A JOY FILLED SEASON!

  1. I love this one along with Kids ~ they were both off the same album. We still have it on LP and I will have to look at iTunes to see if they have it there. Elvis is my go to album ~ If Everyday was Like Christmas ~ gets me everytime. xo

  3. I don't think I've ever heard this song and I thought I had heard them all! There is something happy, peaceful and joyous about Christmas music so I completely understand you listening to it at times other than the month of December. And why not? Good music deserves to be listened to whenever you are in the mood!

  4. Me, too. Me, too!!

Christmas music is my favorite. Currently, I tear up every time I hear, "All I Want For Christmas Is You." Long story about losing my work family last year - but they are all I want.
