and I have to be honest - I totally blame my mom! She definitely passed that
addiction on to me and I happily admit it! It's one addiction that I
truly don't think I can ever kick - so I am going to just give in and enjoy it!
I have always lived by the quote " Life is short eat dessert first!" haha....
When I was pregnant with Stephanie, I worked in an Italian restaurant that had
the best chocolate mousse ever - I had at least 2 bowls of that rich creamy dessert
every single shift. It's a wonder I didn't gain 100 pounds! How I loved that dessert!
After she was born, I just couldn't bare to eat more than a spoonful of it...go figure!
This whole post started tonight with the very first photo - a butterscotch salted caramel
with creme fraiche pudding. It's at a restaurant in Venice, California called Gjelina
(which is about 30 minutes from where I live on a good traffic day, which isn't often).
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm in a butterscotch salted caramel
mood this week and I'm obsessed with getting myself to
that restaurant this weekend - just trying to plan
the road with the least amount of traffic which is
pretty laughable in LA especially on the weekends.
I am thinking heading over Topanga Canyon is my best bet
a much prettier drive and I can see the ocean on the way!
(any local friends that want to join me, give me a call....)
I then decided to take a look at my dessert board on Pinterest called Yum - and I
found so many fabulous desserts that are making my mouth water (and my thighs
thicker too......haha.....) Anything with chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, shortbread
peanut butter or coffee wins my heart every single time!
I haven't tried these scones yet, but I have it on good authority that
they are absolutely drool worthy! Right, Lori? :)
Be still my caramel loving heart!
If you'd like to get the recipe for any of these photos, except the first one
You can check out my Yum Pinterest board
Nothing goes better with dessert (or in it) than coffee - so good!
I'm off to go walk on my treadmill after looking at all of these photos -
I think I just packed on a good ten pounds just thinking about eating
these gorgeous pieces of art! haha......
HAVE A GREAT WEEK, FRIENDS...
(have something sweet ....)
xxoo
Hi Cathi,
ReplyDeleteI'm not a massive dessert fan really ..... I tend to favour savoury things but, if you gave me any of those that you have shown, I would eat them all and enjoy every single one !! I do love chocolate though, especially chocolate with sea salt and, I adore salted caramel ice-cream.
........ that makes my first sentence null and void I think !!!! haha
Have a lovely week Cathi and, if I lived near you { or even in the same country } I would be knocking on your door to come with you on your drive to Topanga Canyon !!!! XXXX
Well...excuse me while I wipe the drool from my computer screen...I have no one to blame for my dessert/sweets addiction...but I have one all the same. I think I want one of everything you've shared here!!! Hope you get that salted caramel dessert before the week is out!
ReplyDeleteOh my Cathi ~ you have me drooling over here!! Those scones were really yummy and although I have pinned those choc chip shortbread cookies, I have not made them yet ~ I will have to get on that! I hope you get to Venice this weekend for that first dessert ~ it looks sinful. It will be a weekend of pumpkin for us as we celebrate Thanksgiving on Monday ~ can't wait for turkey with all the trimmings. Have a fabulous weekend sweet friend. xo
ReplyDeleteBest dessert post EVER, yum!!! Xx
