Highlights from Christmas with my family:
The main focus was Mason and Mia
it is so much fun to just watch little
kids move around and see what they will do
next. The last time I saw these two littles
they were not even crawling and now they are
both talking and walking - adorable beyond words!
Mason is going to be a big brother at the end of
March and we found out on Christmas day that Mia-girl
is going to be a big sister in early July! So much fun!
On Christmas day - it was the usual sit around chatting,
eating everything in sight, watching the little ones tear
into gifts and realizing it's the wrapping paper that they
really want to play with...haha...The next few days were
spent hanging out with my mom and sister. I was able to
get together with one of my best friends - which is always
such a treat. We also watched "It's a Wonderful Life" as
Steff's boyfriend had never watched it and it made my brother
in law so happy as no one ever wants to watch it with him, as
we've seen it so many times. But viewing it with fresh eyes,
I noticed so much more than I had before and loved it even
more! They just don't make movies like they used to.
I took a few walks down my sisters country road
enjoying the crisp fresh air and talking to the goats
along the way.
I also took a tour of Mason's new bedroom (as
they recently moved)he showed me all of his toys and let me
read him some of his favorite books!
He calls me Aunt Cappy - love it! He is quite the character!
We also went bowling and had a great time - so much laughter.
My sister and I grew up playing in bowling leagues every
Saturday morning, so this was a definite blast from the
past! The last photo was from a restaurant we stopped at in
San Luis Obispo - they name all of their meals after authors,
so I had to get the Dr. Seuss for the fun of it - a grilled
PB&J with powdered sugar - yum! The girl cut out with the
inspirational words was in the restroom, it definitely made me
smile as I'm sure it did everyone who entered that day! Such a
great idea. All in all a wonderful, much needed visit with my
family. Our lives get so busy and time flies but making time
with the ones you love is essential as life is definitely
short and to be savored by the moment! Cheers to making
all of our dreams come true this year!
Kindness Rocks - let's all remember that daily!
