my dream holiday destination...

I've often dreamt of spending the Christmas holidays

in another country and experiencing the different traditions

wouldn't that be fun?

I wish I could take my whole family

to Paris for the holidays

to wander the streets

check out the markets

stop in to the Notre Dame to see it in all of it's glory

and to look at all the gorgeous lights

snow would definitely be a bonus

such beautiful colors

Magical indeed!

And of course, we'd need to stop in for desserts - in my

family desserts are one of the main food groups...not kidding!

a cappuccino or a chocolat chaud

would fit the bill perfectly - yum!

If only.....

I had a nice semi busy weekend,

visiting my senior friends,

shopping and more shopping,

watching movies,

listening to Christmas music,

puttering around the house

and just enjoying being.

I hope you did too!

Feeling pretty tired right now!  I had a FABULOUS

Christmas (and hope you did too) enjoying time with family,

just hanging out, eating, talking, singing, eating, drinking (not

too much though) eating (way too much), sleeping (definitely

not enough.) Going to bed early tonight!

Happy 4th of July weekend!

This weekend we will be hanging out

with friends - BBQ-ing, having a few drinks

And most importantly - a variety of desserts!

years ago due to a drunk driver - this issue

is very important to me!

This picture made me think of last week -

I went to my friend Scott's house to

help him sort his stuff for a garage sale

and he had all his holiday decorations up,

thanks to his daughter and mine.

But the one decoration that

stood out to me was his own creation.

He had blue fairy lights wrapped around

the vacuum cleaner and it was sitting

in a corner in the living room....:)

He said he needed an extension cord

for his vacuum cleaner and since

the girls had left a few lights out

he thought he would use them.

BRILLIANT!! I loved it!

It Happened On 5th Avenue

This movie was recommended by one of my fabulous

senior friends that lives at an assisted living home

that I visit weekly to bring movies. I always ask

for movie recommendations and because of that

Everyday Matinees For Seniors has over 600

wonderful films. This movie is one that I really

enjoyed and definitely recommend!

Here's another thing you may not know about me. I am a major holiday movie buff - I can't get enough of them. I will watch them on every channel I can find and record the ones

I won't be around to watch - I just love them.

I can watch them year round, and often do.

The Holiday season to me is a season of hope, miracles, family and love. To be totally honest, I am not a big crier in real life - but when it comes to holiday movies, my tears flow very freely....maybe that's why I love them so much!
