My friend is leaving this morning and "riding the rails"back home to Santa Cruz. I am a bit envious of
her train travel day! I have always wanted to do that,
so I think the next time I go up north, I shall take this
mode of transportation!
Last night, we dropped by the Los Angeles Farmer's Market
and happened upon a Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras celebration
and had a really fun time - great music, food, beads and
funny hats everywhere!

Ooh I did that once from Portland, OR to Tennessee. 3 days on the train. Quite an experience. This best was waking up to the snowy mtns in Montana. :) xoxo

ReplyDeleteI love travelling by train. One train journey that we have done was from Williamsberg to the Grand Canyon which was amazing. We travelled in the compartment that one of the presidents travelled in (sorry, I can't remember which one !). and , of course, for complete luxury, The Orient Express. I'm sure that your friend will enjoy her journey back.

I love traveling by train! When we're in the UK we take trains a lot, and in January I took the train to Philly. All you need is your ipod, a good book, and a bottle of water! What a way to go!

ReplyDeleteThe train is a great mode of transportation ~ there is nothing like sitting back and letting someone else take over getting you from A to B! Although I do enjoy driving and having the ability to do things on my terms ~ the train is sometimes the way to go. I am so glad you had a great time and was lucky enough to stumble into some Mardi Gras celebrations!
