I had a beautiful drive up the coast to my sister's in
Northern California. I hadn't driven alone in a few
years but I had a nice relaxing drive, the weather was
gorgeous and I had a fabulous apple coffee cake waiting
for me upon my arrival - yum!
My girlfriend came to visit and we went to a winery down
the road from my sisters house and danced for a bit, as they
had a band and a bbq going there for Valentines Day. Her sister
films local bands, so the three of us had a blast, then back to my
sisters and dinner with the family including my mom, my
nephew and his wife, my son and my daughter in law!
After hours and hours of eating and nibbling on goodies,
talking and laughing - we all said our good nights!
The next day my friend decided to drive back to Los Angeles
with me to visit her mom in law and to just get away for a bit
(she is my friend that lost her husband a few months ago)
We had a fun time driving down the coast together and
reminscing about all of our past memories. She has been
my best friend since we were 12 years old.
Upon arriving at work the next morning - there were 2 huge
vases of flowers delivered - one for me, and one for my daughter -
from Alex. (I love that he always thinks of my daughter, too!)
I had to admit I felt a bit guilty having so much fun
this weekend while he was toiling away at the office though.
Since my friend is in town, we drove to Manhattan Beach last
night and walked around town and had dinner, so much fun, just
hanging out with girlfriends! Tonight after I get off of work, I am
going to take her to the LA Farmer's Market, as she hasn't been
there in years. I feel so lucky to be able to spend this time
with her, it's been years since we have hung out alot and she
truly needs it at this time in her life!
I hope everyone has a beautiful day! xxoo
Oh, what a fabulous week-end Cathi, it sounds amazing! The drive alone sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLovely that you were able to spend time with your friend too.
And the flowers for you AND your daughter....you have a special man for sure.....and you deserve it.
Have a lovely week my friend! xo
That sounds like a great weekend, Cathi.
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful where you live and I'm sure that the drive was lovely. .....and how brilliant to spend some time with your friend. I am spending a couple of days with my friend that I've known since we were 11 next week. It's so nice to still be friends with someone that you've known for so long, isn't it? There's so much history there..... and so nice for her to have you at such a difficult time in her life.
Have a great week, Cathi. I hope that it's as good as your weekend. XXXX
