34 days and counting....

It is that time of year where we head out to explore
something other than the office

And I am so excited to be heading to Rome to
explore their history, wander the streets, relax
in the park at the Villa Borghese

I will be having quite a few cappuccino's

enjoying some pizza and gelato to name just a few things.
I found this great app for my IPhone called Eat Rome by
Elizabeth Minchilli - a food writer in Rome.  So you know
how the saying goes - when in rome......

Before we head to Rome, we have some important
business to take care of in London

Taking my guy to a football match - we loved it
so much last year we had to do it again.  Yes, we travel
for sports (and I am so glad we do!)

My first order of business will also be to stroll thru the beautiful parks

Hang out and do some people watching
(one of my all time fave activities)

we will definitely be stopping into a few pubs for pint or two

If you have any fabulous restaurants that are must do's in either
Rome or London, do tell, pretty please!  We plan on eating our
way thru Rome and London and happily so! :)

Have a fabulous day, everyone!

  1. What a fabulous trip to look forward to! You can't go wrong eating your way through both cities, and the great thing is that you burn up all the calories with all the walking you do. Enjoy the planning and dreaming the next 30+ days.

  2. How wonderful! I am so excited for you!

I do have a restaurant or two to tell you about in Rome....we had an excellent lunch at a small resto on the day of our 10 year anniversary. The food was fantastic - of course, we never once had a mediocre meal the entire time we were in Italy.
I'll have to ask Bill if he still has the card from that resto and another one I am thinking of and I'll email their names and addresses to you.

  6. Hi Cathy! That's a great trip you have planned and I think sports is as good an excuse to travel as any - if you need one that is ;-) There are so many fab places in London, I wouldn't know which one to tell you about first. If you give me an idea of what you're looking for, I might be able to give you some tips :-) Have a lovely weekend xo

  7. So jealous of your trip. I was in Rome ten years ago and I loved seeing the Vatican. I have never been to London but I hear the hummingbird bakery is wonderful. I have the cookbook and the cupcakes are delicious. Can't wait to hear all about your travels.
