Tonight I had dinner plans with a long time girlfriend that was coming to town for a few days, so we had planned to meet at her hotel after I got off of work. Well after 3 plane delays on her part
and it taking me nearly 1 1/2 hours to drive a normally 25 minute drive, I stopped and picked up dinner at a fast food, instead of going out to a restaurant. Even though both of us were exhausted, it was nice just hanging out at her hotel and chatting the night away. No matter how long I go without seeing my girlfriends, it feels like home when we get together! I finally had to head home, as we both were starting to fall asleep - not quite the party animals we were 10 years ago....haha...

I can so relate to this...best laid plans, etc...but when you're with a close friend it really doesn't matter...it's just great to meet up again...sounds like you had a great time...

ReplyDeleteagreed...girlfriends are like no other. and given the difficulty you both were having in reaching your destination, eating fast food and relaxing in her hotel room sounded perfect...just you, the food and good conversations!
